West Ken & Gibbs Green Handover Approved

Demolition of our neighbouring estates, West Kensington and Gibbs Green, moved closer after the Governments handover of  the land to the developer Capco. This, despite a petition signed by 1000 local residents and a letteragainst the loss of their 761 homes, that they handed over last week to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
LETRA is concerned that residents of the estates are ignored, in favour of the plans and profits for the developer.
Already the promises of new homes in the area and like for like seems to be slipping, plus it's doubtful if adult children will be rehoused. How many more will be broken before the project is finished?

Sunday in the Park

Marcus Garvey Park
This Sunday, 21st April in Marcus Garvey Park should be a good place to enjoy the Spring sunshine and if you have some spare time to help in a litter clean-up. From 10am to Noon, volunteers are welcome to join in the tidy up of the park, as part of the Hammersmith Community Gardens project to improve the flowerbeds and wildlife habitat.
Park Update: Tuesday 23rd April
Bags collected on Sunday
The clean-up went well on Sunday, with 7 volunteers collecting 12 bags of rubbish.
The next event for your diary is Saturday, 11th May from 10am to noon, which will involve the planting of sunflower seedlings in the park.
Please join, if you can spare some time on that Saturday, to prepare the planting areas and plant the seedlings.
