Demolition of our neighbouring estates, West Kensington and Gibbs Green, moved closer after the Governments handover of the land to the developer Capco. This, despite a petition signed by 1000 local residents and a letter, against the loss of their 761 homes, that they handed over last week to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles.
LETRA is concerned that residents of the estates are ignored, in favour of the plans and profits for the developer.
Already the promises of new homes in the area and like for like seems to be slipping, plus it's doubtful if adult children will be rehoused. How many more will be broken before the project is finished?
