Great work from our local North Kensington firemen, who were quickly diverted to 'the shout' when a fire broke out at Pizza Pronto on North End Crescent, West Kensington at around 10.30/11 am today. The building was engulfed in smoke and local residents from the property and next door were evacuated to the street, while firemen wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to put out the fire and check there weren't any remaining people inside. Two fire tenders were in attendance at the incident, which was dealt with very swiftly, a 1st-floor window had to be smashed allowing smoke to escape a room, alleviating its effects. The fire is said to have started in the pizza takeaways downstairs restroom. There are no reports of any injuries, but the thick smoke spread up through the building and into resident's flats above the shop. Due to the firefighter's fast and brave action, both the building and neighboring properties with the resident's flats above were saved from greater damage.
