Warwick Building Exhibition

There is a public exhibition of the planning proposals for the Warwick Building in Kensington Village. The building in question borders the railway line to the east and West Cromwell Road to the south.
The exhibition will be held in the Residents Hall on Wednesday 27th June and Thursday 28th June from 3pm to 8pm. This exhibition follows on from the one that was recently held at the Hilton Hotel, Olympia.
The proposal is to add a new roof to the current Warwick Building providing two storeys of residential accommodation. The proposed extension will contain 25 new homes and new plant for the current building, replacing the unsightly and outdated existing roof plant. The existing office space will remain unaffected.

Consultation on the new flats at The Grange

Front elevation with new flats to the left
Rear elevation with new flats and sheds to the right
H&F held a second residents consultation meeting today, on the proposal to build two new flats at The Grange.
The development would see the flats being built on the ground floor of the building in the present pram shed area. Following the first consultation they have agreed to maintain the current number of sheds, which involves building out onto the grass area at the rear of the flats.
H&F will be sending all residents of the building the new plans, plus a further feedback form to be sent back in, with a number of design options to consider. Please make sure you respond to the survey if you have concerns, because subject to planning permission, building works may start by the end of the year.
If you missed the consultation check out the PDF link below. It has the 4 display boards, including a resizeable plan, plus all of the front and back elevation views and the feedback results from the first consultation.

The Avonmore Library & Neighbourhood Centre Opens

The new Avonmore Library
The smell of builders paint didn’t spoil today’s quite opening of the new Avonmore Library and Neighbourhood Centre. The facilities, in the old Barons Court Library building, include the relocated Citizens Advice Bureau, previously sited in Mund Street; the London Irish Care office (due to open on the 9th July) and the reduced in size, but welcome, revamped library.
The CAB is fully up and running, but the library is waiting for new shelving to display more books (needed) and the computer/internet services won't be working until next week. Update: Internet access is now available.
The library has just 50% of the previous area and it shows, with a limited book catalogue, but it still provides a small newspaper/magazine reading section, a children’s book space and six internet connected computers.
The Centre is managed by the CAB, with volunteer library staffing, self service machines and connected to H&F's online library catalogue, so books can be renewed, ordered to collect and returned there.
A 24 hour automated service is available by phone 0303 123 0035 and online www.lbhf.gov.uk/libraries (Library card number and PIN required)
- The new library opening hours - 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
- Babies under one year  - Tuesdays 10.00am-11.00am (term time)
- Under-5s - Fridays 2.00pm-3.00pm (term time)
